The Digital Caliper is a precision instrument that can be used to measure internal and external distances extremely accurately.

Unlike dial calipers and vernier calipers, digital calipers do not have a rack and pinion mechanism. This sends a signal to a chip within the caliper, which generates the readings shown on the LCD display.
